The Tangential: I Learned Everything I Know from Wishbone

thetangential:

I have few memories of watching Sesame Street as a kid. I’m not sure why – maybe because it’s made for that time in life no one remembers, or as Freud would argue, that time everyone represses because it was mostly just them seeing their parents having sex and getting mad about the…

The Start

So here we are.

I’ve just recently moved out & moved in all in the space of a week which is a truly bizarre concept.

I moved out of Mum & Dad’s & moved in with my boyfriend, Tom, & although it’s been both stressful & tiring as well as utterly terrifying, I think we’re getting settled.

It is unfortunate that we now live next to an awful chav boy who plays the same thumping, bass-y song on a loop whilst giggling moronically with his ridiculous chav boy friends. (I refrained from removing the space between “boy” & “friends” there & I must say it took a lot of restraint. Very mature, don’t you think?)

The lettings agents were a pain & the builder didn’t turn up yesterday but aside from all these niggling annoyances I couldn’t be happier.

Because he’s here.

I can watch him carefully as he sits across the table from me, eating the dinner I made, hoping he is enjoying it.

I can call out to him from upstairs for no real reason & he appears, like a wonderful magic trick.

I can reach out and touch him if I wake up in the middle of the night.

On Sunday, we sat on the kitchen floor & laughed because we failed at roast potatoes. Probably from the exhaustion of the previous week as opposed to there being anything remotely funny about soggy potatoes.

I get so excited at the thought of him coming home from work.

Excited about the prospect of our first Saturday spent lazing in bed together.

And he brought me cheesecake :)
